Gorillas live in families, take care of their young for a long time, and are mostly vegetarian. They're threatened in many areas of Africa, by diseases and by humans who destroy their habitat and poach them for meat. WWF has been working to help gorillas for more than 40 years.
King of the great white north, polar bears face an uncertain future. They hunt on sea ice, which is melting because of global warming. So the bears are hungry and having fewer cubs. By the end of this century, they could be all gone. WWF is advocating to reduce the impact of global warming on polar bears.
These adorable, intelligent mammals are threatened in the wild. The worst problem is "bycatch", when dolphins are accidentally caught in nets meant for fish. WWF is encouraging the development of dolphin-safe fishing and advocating for international policy to protect dolphins.
These delicate insects fly 1200 or more miles to winter in central Mexico. But their migratory homes in Mexico are being destroyed. WWF is working to conserve and restore forest habitats, establish sustainable tourism, provide economic incentives and create a Monarch Butterfly Reserve.
Carve a pumpkin with a wild animal design, and capture your creativity in great photos! Then upload your photos to Snapfish for the chance to win prizes from Snapfish, HP and World Wildlife Fund.
